GUN TRANSFER

Overview
At Best Pawn Shop, safety and compliance come first. We’re a federally licensed firearms dealer (FFL) and we offer several convenient gun transfer options to meet buyer and seller needs — from simple in-store purchases to dealer-to-dealer and out-of-state transfers. Below is a clear, customer-friendly guide to how transfers work, what you’ll need, typical fees, and our responsibilities.

How Transfers Work
If a firearm arrives at our shop from another dealer, seller, or out-of-state, we process the transfer through our FFL and complete any required background check(s) before the buyer takes possession.
For firearms sold directly in our store, we still follow all federal, state, and local regulations — including verifying ID and running required checks.
For consignments (you bring a firearm to us to sell on your behalf), we’ll intake the firearm, verify ownership and condition, and handle the transfer to the buyer through our FFL.
Transfer Options We Offer

1. In-Store Purchase & Transfer
Firearms we sell on the showroom floor can be purchased and transferred to you at our shop once paperwork and checks are completed.
Great option for buyers who want to take the firearm home the same day (subject to legal requirements and processing time).

2. Dealer-to-Dealer (FFL-to-FFL) Transfer
If you buy a firearm from another licensed dealer, they can ship it to our shop. We’ll receive the firearm, inspect it, complete transfer paperwork, perform required background checks, and release it to the buyer when legal requirements are satisfied.
This is the required method for interstate transfers of firearms between dealers.

3. Out-of-State Transfers (Private Sales or Dealer Transfers)
Federal law requires out-of-state firearm transfers between FFLs — we’ll only accept firearms shipped to us from another licensed dealer.
Once the firearm is received, we will handle all paperwork and background checks in accordance with federal and state laws.

4. Pawn Transfers
Selling or pawning a firearm to our shop? We inspect, take inventory, and process the transfer. If the firearm is later sold, we complete the sale transfer to the purchaser through the shop’s FFL.

Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ)
Q: Do you accept private-party transfers?
A: Private-party transfers from out-of-state must be shipped to and processed through an FFL. If the seller is local, we can assist with an in-shop transfer if state law requires it. Contact us for specifics.
Q: Can I pick up the firearm the same day I submit paperwork?
A: Possibly — if required background checks and any waiting periods are cleared and all documentation is in order. Some transfers require additional permits or waiting periods depending on state law.
Q: What forms of payment do you accept for transfer fees?
A: We accept cash, debit/credit cards, and other payment methods in-store. Ask us for details when you begin the transfer.
Q: Do you ship firearms to out-of-state buyers?
A: We ship only to licensed dealers (FFL-to-FFL). If you’re an out-of-state buyer, arrange for a dealer in your state to receive the firearm.
